Relief Teaching + JL

My last day of teaching. Gave them pop spelling and it was both good and bad. Sec 1F(exp) took it seriously thou there were still many getting 0/12 while Sec 2A (NA) was horrible. None took it seriously. It took me less than 10mins to finish marking all 20 scripts. Easy to mark, efficient in marking huh! Haha.

Met JL @ 1430,City Hall. I was so tired that I fell asleep in the train and nearly missed the stop. Went to RafflesCity to meet her, then headed to Suntec City + Carrfour and our beloved museum. It was quite disappointing to see the less-than-10 kinda number of pple. Actually it was logical and expected. The Public Power magnetic wall disappeared. The crowd disappeared. The atmosphere disappeared. The only advantage was that it made taking photos so much easier, cos there were no extras. And it was 1 great chance for us to explore the whole place thoroughly. Haha.

Jobs

Woke up very early today, the earliest since A-levels ended, not counting the days in NZ. Went to Springfield Sec to do relief teaching today. I was covering duties for a Chinese teacher, Mdm Wan. I took Sec 2B (N.A), Sec 3E (N.T), Sec 1F (exp) and Sec 5A (N.A). It was very hard to teach cos the students, esp those in N streams, were rude, rowdy, inattentive, having u-name-it, they-have it kinda attitudes. I wasted no time in finishing the stuff, completed 1 topic from the CL textbook for all classes, except for the Sec 5 class, where i completed 2 topics. I couldn't make them do the workbook cos I was only a relief teacher, neither could i do other spelling/work stuff cos the students weren't co-operative. Since they had no other qns, I just moved on. Too bad :)

Lets see. There was a gal from Sec 2B who took my relief pass to the toilet since the start oof the lesson, and came back just before class ended. I sent a prefect to look for her, so she came back and gave me a 'look' and commented tt its only a while tt she excused herself. Very funny. 35mins lesson, missing for 30mins, she had the cheek to tell me its only a while. Sec 3E only had 2 chinese gals. Sec 1F was the most well-behaved as they were only Sec 1 students. Sec 5A was the worst. Students either left when they knew I was only a relief teacher, or they started sleeping, or they started making a fool of themselves. The million-dollar qns was: How old I was. Haha. I was made to read the texts, write out the new words, define the words, form sentences, etc. I wonder who's taking the examinations. What shocked me most was the fact that at the level of Sec 5, there were still so so so many words, which shd be learnt during Pri 6, tt the students didn't know how to pronounce or write. How are they going to cope with O-levels? But thats not my prob if they're not willing to learn.

My class actually ended at 12.35pm today, but I stayed back to wait for any guy, James from tpjc, who's also a relief teacher. Lunched together at nearby coffee shop. And by the way, their canteen food was so-so only.

4.30pm had an interview at Sunway Concrete Pdts Pte Ltd. Left home at 4pm, thinking tt there's more than enough time to get there. Who knew tt aft walking for 15min,we still couldn't find the place. In the end, took a cab to that stupid secluded place @ IKEA/Courts area. When I reached there, I felt like going home. The place was like a construction site, with lots of Indian/Thai workers, cement, concrete, scaffolds, etc. Still accepted the job anyway. Data entry and admin work. $1250/mth, with all te benefits, 8.30am-5.30pm, with free shuttle from Tampines MRT. Sad, no more waking up at 11am, no more watching 'Cash is King', no more shopping in the aftn. Sigh.

Rollerskating!

This aftn, I finally learned basic rollerskating. My 1st time, mind you, and I was horribly stressed. After abt 30min, I knew how to walk. But my legs were tired and I was perspiring like crazy, so I stopped. I didn't really fall, but there was once when my sis offered to pull me along and I forgot to bend my knees. And so I began to slide and fall backwards. Luckily my mum was behind me and she caught me and put me to the floor s-l-o-w-l-y and gently. Haha. That was so funny. As usual, I sat on the floor and laughed and refused to get up. Hee. Thou tiring, its quite fun actually. Haha.

Last nite went counting down at museum. Much more pple than I ever expected, but the crowd slowly faded away once the countown ended. Pple danced, but it was just some pple dancing abt here and there. Pple drank, u could see the caucasians each holding to a bottle of wine and gulping down and down. I spoke to one of the guys, and I could feel his hand sliding down my back. Felt like telling him to keep his hand to himself, but I was wearing the official tag, so I just shut up. Some things i didnt expect of the countdown was loud blaring disco-like DJ music, the smog, the neon lights, the fireworks and the many St Johns medics. Heard that someone fainted yest aftn. I felt like fainting yest when the audience just crowded around me during the Project Bandaloop finale.

I was standing inside the 'blocked off ' area which was a small triangle. Pple just crowded around the triangle, pushing against the straps, pushing against me. I could feel the triangle getting smaller and smaller. I was with The Straits Times photographer and it was quite squeezy. Then when the performer came up, the photographer left. Inside the triangle was Yeow Ann and me as well as the performer. U could have imagined how lack-of-space it was. The performer went down, in came another photographer with his tripod. Now now, 3 pple and 1 big tall tripod with a protruding mic. And there was this Indian guy who constantly contributed to the reducing triangle size. I told him for don't-know-how-many times to move back, but its either he's suffering from memory lapse or he just didn't want to obey my request, it didn't require more than 10 sec for the next reminder to come out of my mouth. I don't understand how YA could tolerate a big size person standing and pushing him half the time. I couldn't, so I was quite frustrated. Then my stupid right eye started to irritate me. I was so tired and so unwell with such limited space and oxygen and an irritating eye. Once loft! ended, pooh! the crowd disappeared, vanished! Pls imagine the speed. I helped YA carried the metal stand to the side, it was so the heavy. It took me 2 hands + some staggering to carry 1 stand and he actually could carry 1 in each hand! I was feeling quite faint already. If he didn't help me, i would have dropped the whole stand on the floor. Haha.

There was bag checking yest and those of age 18 had their hands stamped, so tt they could buy liquor. Neither happended to me, all thanks to being an official there. Haha. Felt so privileged. I saw Miss Anne Goh with 2 other gal friends. The rest were all strangers. But I was still wondering, what on earth made her come down to a museum for a countdown? Cos she's still an educator afterall? Maybe.

The end of 2006 marked the end of my volunteering @ the museum. Come to think of it, I have made so many friends (Jie Ling esp), known so many staff (which includes the staff themselves-YA, Ama, Jac, the security guards, the photographer and even the cleaner!) and I even hugged and shook hands with the performers (Cocoloco, Really Xmas Show, Homemade, Proj Bandaloop). It was really fun thou there were so many instances that I felt so totally lost and felt like stomping off and ticking pple off. I have known the place so inside-out, like where the offices are, where the galleries are, whats in each of the galleries, how u get from one place to another, etc. I even got the chance to introduce the place and highlights to some of the audience last nite! And I think i've learnt a lot. Its definitely an experience not to be forgotten and I kinda miss the place and pple now...but i doubt I'll go back there, unless there's a need to cos I've visited the galleries so many times already, and there won't be anymore special shows at least for the time being. So thats too bad. Haha.

Class outing + NMS

Went for class outing today. Original plan was to go Sentosa, but the turnout was no good. Didn't know that my class only had 6 gals and 1 guy. Haha. Went to Vivocity eventually. My 2nd time in this week. Haha. Dined at Long John Silver, then went out to look at the harbour/sea, only to realise that a Sweden ship's coming to Sin to dock for a few days. It's supposed to be a replica of a ship in 18th century, which sank in dont-know-when. It was so majestic, like a traditional Chinese junk. We waved our hands and the Sweden flag like crazy, and the happiest thing was that one of the crew actually waved back to US! We even saw one of the crew members dressed up like those traditional captains. Funny that we just had Long John Silver and there in front of us, was Captain Cook. Haha. I left at 2.30pm, and headed to NMS.

The journey from HarbourFront to Dhoby Ghaut's only abt 15min. Luckily, if not I'd be super late. Went to see the Maria Theresia exhibit with Jie Ling. Nothing much, just nice paintings and artefacts. HomeMade was interesting, lots of Xin Yao songs that I knew, and I had the chance to sing along.

Lets not talk abt how little tasks I've been given as a prog facilitator. I was so lost before the item began. I just stood there, not knowing what to do. The staff saw me and decided that I'm transparent. Fine! I was told to be there by 4pm. When the performers started rehearsing at 3.30pm, I panicked. I thot I was late or sth. I couldn't find the IC. Neiher did I see the other volunteer who's supposed to be there. Finally, the IC popped out, but that was like past past 4pm and he told me that I have NOTHING to do till 5pm. I felt like asking him :' Hey handsome, if thats the case, why ask me to come here at 4pm then?' But I didn't, of cos, cos he wasn't handsome at all. Haha. Fortunately JL was with me all the while, if not I'd have been super duper worried.

I don't know why, but aunties just like to come and talk to me. One auntie approached me and asked me a lot of things. Then she started giving me a lecture on "how $$$ isn't impt" and "why porridge with soy sauce is good for me". Haha. Eventually, my task was to shoo pple from crowding around the escalator area. At least I had sth to do.

Dinner according to JL and one of the camera crew was horrible, so I skipped that and ate Polky instead. Project Bandaloop was fantastic but the front part was a little boring. Perhaps I still don't really know how to appreciate Arts. But I must say, the turnout for that was quite good. I almost had no space to stand. Haha.

Tmr's the countdown. I really doubt the no. of pple who will come to a museum for countdown. Its like so contradicting, but well, its an experience anyway.

PS Slippers really come in handy or leggy when you are rushing for MRT trains. My flip-flops were so noisy and loud that pple just stood on one side of the escalator and let me passed. Haha.

My birthday present

Went out with Zj today to buy my birthday present. I was late for 10min cos I overslept. Haha, its only just me. Anyway, I must say a wonderful present i've got. Went out with Geraldine...

Met up with Geraldine today. We met at 12 nn, and this dear frined of mine actually woke up at 12 nn. Haha. made me wait for almost 1h. Never mind, I wasn't in a rush anyway. We had lunch @ food junction. I couldn't stand anymore chips/fries cos I have been eating them for almost 11 days. So no more fast food for the time being. Walked around RafflesCity, City Link and Suntec. A pity Fan Sheng wasn't working today, if not,we could have dropped by and said hi. Anyway, we saw Ziying @ TCC, City Link. Almost couldn't recognise her in her waitress uniform. Haha. Went into Carrfour and had a long rest-guess we were tired after walking for so long. Not long actually. Haha.

Finally back...

Yah, I'm back. Just a few hours ago. It was a pleasant trip. Took a total of 759 photos, which I have just uploaded them, and have yet to sort them out. Its summer in NZ,yet the slightest hint of the swason that one can ever getis the early sunrise (5am) and the late sunset (9.30pm). Tried out many interesting stuff like jet boating, hot air balloon and getting splashed by waterfall. Cool! The scenary in Christchurch and Milford sound were simply awesome! City centres of both North and South islands were busy too. Auckland Sky Tower is so TALL. So many sheep and cows on so many patches of green grass, my goodness! I didn't expect Queenstown to be so boring....etc


I have lots to say, but let me rest first before I get everything typed and posted. Just want to say that I really love the weather here. At least you don't experience 4 seasons in a day.

Bought a new digital cam, only to realise that the Workshop CD is not working. Went down to Sim Lim Sq and got a new CD, but the same prob again. Mum and Sis are super busy now, and I'mstill blogging. No time liao!

End of Cocoloco

So sad. I'm quite surprised at myself. Its just 2 days and I've actually grown attached to Helen and Trevor and the museum, even thou I really didn't do much. Today's acts were rather well done. The 2nd set was no longer the ET, but sth very English. Trevor wore a torn tuxedo, while Helen wore a super short red dress, with some sticking- fury- red- cute thing all on her hands and legs. The things keep on dropping and i was behind them, picking up the red things that fell off. The way they looked scared many people. Some thot they were for real during the 1st act, Audrey and Audrey. There was an encouraging no. of audience forAlice and Alice, which was really, encouraging! And we almost got lost in the History Gallery. Trevor was afraid that we'd all become permanent exhibits. Haha. That was funny. Even the security guards were quite scared to see me around-cos my presence would mean that the 2 weirdos are out roving the museum again. Haha. So I actually know the guards well enough to joke with them yah. Yah, and I talked to the photographer and other staff as well.


Elizabeth told me that Hydromania was great. A pity I missed both shows. Today was quite alright actually. The both of them were late, cos of the roadblocks almost everywhere for the marathon. While they visited the galleries, Elizabeth and I had time to sit down for tea and biscuits. Haha. I want to say that Elizabeth was really a great LO. She had lots of experience. The way she spoke, the opinions she gave, the way she handled people and things...no wonder she got the job! I wouldn't be half as good if I were given the job successfully. So it looks like I have lots to learn.


When I left, Trevor and Helen each gave me a hug. My first hug! ~No lah, just joking. But it felt really great and I actually felt like crying. But for that instant only. My point being, although I really felt like an extra there, or rather I was an extra, and that I really don't like to be there, but it really saddens me that everything's ending so soon.


Cocoloco was really great and a hugh success, to me. It was really great experience for me.

National Museum Opening Festival

Went NMS to help out today, from 11am to 6.30pm, inclusive of lunch and snacks. Anyway, I was in-charge of Cocoloco and the Sock Puppets. Cocoloco was funny and not exactly what I had imagined. The 2 'clowns' moved about the museum, amusing and scaring anybody they could find. A pity there weren't many people. They had 3 diff looks. The 1st was somewhat like a maid kinda pattern, vacumming everywhere and dusting everywhere with a feather duster. 2nd which made them look like ETs and the 3rd was Alice and Alice. Both Helen and Trevor dressed and said the same, in a poetic manner. I dont know how to describe exactly, but they were funny anyway. But I know that they made 3 kids cry cos of their ET outfit. Haha. Poor kids.


Actually I felt kinda extra, following them wherever they roamed abt. Twice i lost them, which really made me panicked. Not as if they didn't know their way round, but its the responsibility part. Elizabeth, the LO, wasn't around and she made me take charge. I can't possibly tell her: 'Hey. I'm sorry, but I lost them.' It sounds ridiculous. Many instances, I even had the free time for Archie comics (that I loaned from Seige) and tea and biscuits. See how free I am! Everybody just minded his/her own business! And by the way, i didn't realise that Elizabeth's a chinese until she spoke to me in Mandarin. Actually I was rather dumb. Thou she didn't look like a Chinese, she's definitely not a Malay or Indian or Caucasian. What was I thinking abt?!!


Cocoloco endedat 4.30pm, then i went over to help the sock puppets and the three little pigs. Not as extra, but still an extra, opening the doors for the people, seeing the kids make their own sock puppets and finally clearing up. I really don't know what to say. Imagine yourself doing all these and you will know how I felt.


Never mind. Just 1 more day and I will be off till at least 23Dec. After tmr, I can start to think abt what clothes I'm going to bring for my NZ trip next Thurs. Oh my god, just a few days more!!!

IKEA Opening

I realise I'm always 1 day late, but nvm.


Went IKEA yesterday-the day of opening. My goodness, you should have seen how many people there were. We didn't expect to queue to enter, and when thats the case, we didn't expect the queue to be that long. We started queing in the carpark and along the store and finally we were in the store. It was fortunate that the checkout counters were ample enough to accommodate the customers, so the queue wasn't that long. But I hated the long walk from the bus stop to the store, esp when the weather was so hot like yest.


How shd I describe the store? Big, big and still big. Pardon my limited vocab, but its blatently big. The goods were stacked up high, and the place was as big as a warehouse. There were quite a lot of show rooms, its great to see how they have designed the limited space with their furniture. Liked their beds and sofas, so comfortable. And there were almost a Xmas tree every 20 steps, I think seige would love the place. Haha. And of cos, it wouldn't be called a grand opening, without balloons almost everywhere and kids getting lost and parents getting frantic and panicky. Haha.


One particular thing that bothered me was this irritating auntie. She did 4 wrongs. The 1st wrong was her dressing - try wearing long sleeve under such hot weather. Perhaps she was very cold. The 2nd wrong was cutting queue. All along she was far far behind us. All of a sudden, she was in front of us. ??? I stared at her, she mumbled sth and let us walked in front of her. She became right behind us. She should be FAR behind us, not JUST behind us. But never mind, just let it be. The 3rd wrong was asking me why didn't I jumped queue. Felt like asking her if she thot cutting queue was the right thing to do, but on 2nd thot, perhaps keeping my mouth shut would be a wiser move. The last wrong she did was stepping on my slippers. Irritating auntie.

29 Nov 06

Yesterday was the interview. It was a mixed feeling kinda thing.On bus 197, I was so worried that I'd be late cos the bus was so slow. But in the end, i was half hour early. Haha. It was a rather long wait, and I was hungry. After the interview, i was tired. I sort of flopped the whole thing, but whats new. Things started to go wrong wrong wrong when that interviewer asked me abt how S'pore shd respond to India and China's growth. I felt like telling her: 'How I know', but I didn't, of cos, i just crapped thru and scraped thru.


After that I took train to Bedok and went Lela's house. Pls, the journey was only half hour. To think i almost spent one hour plus by bus to that stupid ulu place at Jln Bkt Merah. Never mind. Baking cookies was fun. That was my 1st time, and i felt like a dummy. I didn't know that the dough would expand, and I didn't put enough chips. Stupid right? But never mind. That was my first time, next time I know. Haha. Took photos, my fave of cos.

03/05 Chalet

Lam, Jac and ZJ: For ur reading pleasure.


Today...went to Zj's class chalet. It was fun thou the weather was not very nice and we didn't really do much. Met zj supposedly at 1215, who knows both of us were late. For once, she was even later than me. Haha. Proud of myself. Went to White Sands NTUC to buy the BBQ stuff. What did we buy? Hmm...party needs, zj's LETTUCE, baby potatoes, tomatoes, snacks...thats all, i think. Took the free shuttle bus at 1345 and kena scolding from the bus driver for missing the stop. Toopid bus driver, how dare he scold us-passengers! We've got all the time on earth, can't we just sit in the bus forever? Haha.


Super heavy rain when we alighted. Gladys, Fatima & Ah Tai went in 1st, me and Zj waited for the brollies. Hanzhi went to fetch us aft tt. Thou we had brollies, its only slightly better than without them, cos we were quite drenched too. Haha. But 1 lesson learnt: Don't ever wear slippery slippers to chalets when u know its gonna rain. Luckily nobody slipped today.


In the chalet what did we do? Took photos (my fave!), watched tv (as if my house don't have like tt), pillow fight with zj, attempted to play blackjack (the keyword is ATTEMPTED) and lastly BBQ. It was rather fun looking at how pple start the fire and place the charcoals and fan the ashes and smoke til the wire mesh broke. And not forgetting having fun holding the umbrella for Wen Jun & unfortunately, Jerome (supposedly the charcoals) Haha. 4L came in the evening, with her never-closed-umbrella which she held on to even when it has stopped raining. I left at late 7 plus, after 1 crabstick, 1 baby potato, 1/2 hot dog (courtesy of 03/05), 1 mid-wing and some Bee Hoon (courtesy of 4L), under the escort of 4 guardian angels with empty stomachs (zj, fatima, gladys and Ah Tai). How honoured! Liked the way 4L talked. Not cos her words were INSPIRING, but cos she was so COMICAL. Haha.



































From the smiles, its easy to tell that I've enjoyed myself.

Thanks zj for escorting me and the return card enclosed with the super big sweet. Please convey my thanks to ur class 03/05 for all the fun I've had, esp my other 3 guardian angels. Oh, should I also thank ur CG's CT's maid for the food too? Haha. Thanks.

I still think Wai Yong really looked like Li Nan Xing, and tt Linyuan and Hanzhi really are compatible, but not Jun Long and Wan Qing and that Jerome really is... and Wen Jun is really GREAT, and Keow Koon is really pretty and the class pple are simply...wonderful. :)

With Seige

The day...had McBreakfast @ TMall with Seige this morn, so fun. I was a bit late cos I was busy watching Doraemon. Haha. Got stood up by Prisc...toopid Prisc! Haha. Went to look at Xmas trees (so nice), toys 'R' us, Yamaha...then to Seige's house, cos I had no key to go home and I had to be at somewhere else in the aftn supposedly. Spent some time there. Stole 32 Archie digests from her, sang almost all choir songs together (& realised tt she's got such wonderful memory-not only did she rmb the tunes, she rmb the lyrics too-crazy!), gossiped about many people-including the PHANTOM, took and looked at photos, listened to songs & podcasts, played Internet...this is what I call spending quality time. Haha. To think we've almost lost contact for 2 years,and we're still so close. I feel so 'xing fu'. To Seige, thanks for everything. U're really a great friend. I'll not forget the interests for the digests. :)

End of A-levels

Today is the day...the end of A levels. Nothing to say abt the S Papers except that they were DIfficult! Never mind, at most get ungraded only lor. Not impt de.Haha. How I celebrated? Went to LJS @ TMall...saw the escalators with the CAUTION Sticker...aiyoh. We had a very long lunch...chatted a lot. So happy.


Met Seige at the place we are meeting tmr. So qiao. Haha. Can't wait to have breakfast with her tmr. Are u reading this, Seige? I'm very very eager to really meet up with u!


Then I went down to NMS. A bit bored. No liaison officer also nvm lah. Haha. Made 2 new friends-Maryann (ACJc) and Geok Han (HCI). Got a free Teh Tarik as well. Seems like I'll have a busy countdown this year.


Anyway, no more notes!I'mnot going to read or touch anything got to do with Maths/Chem/Phy/Bio/GP. Nobody is allowed to ask me anything got to do with those stuff. Haha. Its time to relaxliao and start packing and preparing for my long vacation.


Zj, u want to work ah...can lah,but no NTUC, no Shop N Save, no McDonalds. I don't want to wash toilets. Haha. I can source for good jobs for u if u dont mind. But no hurry lah, lets wait till Dec aft my trip lah hor, can? Haha.

Bio

Another paper down... 3 more papers to go. Somehow I feel very disappointed with my performance in this A levels. I think I would do very badly for all the subjects. Getting an A seems almost impossible for any subject. Sigh. I still think doing ok for prelims is a no-no.


I don't think the problem lies with the papers, I think the problem lies in ME. To think I cant even spell gibberellin. Horrible. To speak the truth, I haven't really been performing up to standards. Perhaps I had the same feelings during Prelims, which I can't rmb, but i do hope I'm just being too paranoid and pessimistic and that things aren't as bad as I think. The only chance to save my bio paper is the MCQ, which i doubt can save me much.


I'm feeling quite funny now. On one hand, I hope people will console me, telling me that things aren't that bad, on the other hand, I rather people around me just not say anything and just let me face up to reality. I also don't know. But i do know that hearing how others keep getting the right ans does not sound consoling at all. I'm not implying that others are not supposed to get the right ans, but it only shows how lousy I've been.

hello!

Have been posting a lot lately. All because of some stupid messages that made me angry.


But anyway, 1 more week to end of my exams. Can't wait to have lunch with Zj on the last day, can't wait to go out with Seige, can't wait to contact NHB and start work as a liason officer, can't wait to make preparations for my EOY NZ trip...and the list goes on. I'm not going to bother abt some outings that some poeple, who knew that I can't go, organised, cos I can't go. Thats simple.


Of course I quite envy those who didn't take Bio, cos their papers ended just yest, and think abt it, they're already enjoying their hols right now, when I still have 4 more papers to go. But I really don't mind lah, afterall I chose the subjects and papers I want to take. Its good for me. 6 days really aren't a lot. Can survive de. And this, is self-encouragement. And speaking of that, I haven't started studying for Mon's Bio option yet. Maybe later lah, slack first more impt. Haha.

Long time no see

I realised I have't been blogging since abt 1 week ago. Thou nobody may be reading, but I might as well post something.


I don't wish to sound depressed, but I really think I'm a goner. Whats the point of doing well during prelims and not doing wellin the actual A levels? And thats the precise predicament I'm in right now. I'm so very disappointed with the many stupid mistakes in my maths paper. I think I'm placed at a very risky spot. I really will knock my head against anything I can find if my carelessness had caused my grade to drop from A to B. Physics was horrible also. Had I not made so many mistakes in the MCQs which cost 2m each, I think i wouldn't have died so horribly. But over liao, too bad.


I just received a phone call from a crazy fella. The first thing he said to me was "What are you doing now?" I was totally shocked and filled with qn marks. I asked him who he was, he told me to guess. I asked him if he had made a wrong call, he said no and told me not to be like that. Like what?!! Am I supposed to entertain someone whom I don't know? To hell with him, man. Scare people like that past midnight. Luckily I'm still awake, if not I would have been...don't know, maybe shocked to death? Haha, anyway, I scolded him and hung up on him. Too bad, just his luck to make a prank call like that and got answered by me. Crazy fella!

Short break

Finally can rest for 2 afternoons liao.The 2 day "marathon" was horrible. So many things to study, so little time to study.Think I will shatter some day, if I'm not given theis 2 afternoon' rests. Ok, now I dont even know what I'm typing.


Miss Wong gave us all cookies this morning. She baked them herself. Wow! Each pack consists of 3 pieces of cookies...supposed to form a "100" so that we can score 100 for our chem paper. Haha, you think its possible? I already minus off don't-know-how many marks liao. Heh...


For yesterday's bio, it was so-so. Not all that I studied came out, but all that I didn't study did appear. Stupid paper. But somehow I think its much better than Prelims. Is it? Actually i also don't know. Give me a few more days to think about it and I might say otherwise.


Yesterday's maths was ok. I ALMOST freaked out when I saw the 1st G.P. qns. Then the 3D trigo qns was such a discrete and difficult one. People like ZJ, KS all got 20.6 degrees for the angle. Me? I got 40.6 degrees. I wrong lah, obviously. Don't ask me where the extra 20 degrees come from, I don't know. I never get 3D trigo qns right de. NEVER! Ok lah, overall minus 12 marks liao. Still got 88 marks. Haha, what a nice number. Yah, as if I won't have other mistakes like that. Haha.

No more GP...

No more GP..., yah at least for the time being. So difficult leh...I usually don't do mass media qns, but there's almost no time for me this time round. I was quite frank in my survey form. I really didn't know much about Newspapers and Magazines, but thats as much as I know about charity, entrepreneurship, politics, myths and legends. But I didn't even knowif its "The Straits Times" or "The Straits Time"...I chose the former. Was I right? Served me right for not reading the papers. Haha. And I almost couldn't finish cos I crazily rewrote my essay twice. Crazy. And of course I stiked out the technology qns, only to feel a little betrayed after the paper and hearing some comments...Thats for Paper 1. Paper 2...horrible! I felt like sleeping even before I've finished reading my 2-page long passage. What freedom of speech, right of life...I felt so deprived!- of don't know what...time and knowledge maybe haha...


Anyway, its over liao, no point thinking about it anymore le hor...but its so unlike of me to think this way, so I guess this GP exam can still keep my mind occupied for at least a few days more. Hope that Mrs Ho doesn't come after me because of the lousy survey form reply...I was just being frank!


Oh by the way, I think our Miss Indian invigilator was great. Haha. And such a coincidence that the blur Mr Ang Moh that me, ZJ, Lam and Jac saw this morning was one of our invigilators too.

Tmr...the day...of A-levels GP Papers. Stressed ah! Haha, GP is neither my favourite subject nor my best subject...I don't know what to do with it either. Get it over and done with asap better. Haha. Good luck to me!


Oh, and I'm so touched that my good friend, Seige actually dropped by (don't know if I'm still her good friend or not, haha). I was really just thinking about her yest and this afternoon and, poof, her name appeared on my tagboard. Hey friend, shall we go out after mine and your exams?

Irresponsibilty

Another hazy weekend...actually I'm quite used to it already. Tmr is the 2nd official day of school. I really think I will miss all my friends...afterall 2 years is still a lot. We started off not knowing each other and ended up enjoying many happy moments together. Even short bus journeys to the Bedok Interchange can be very enjoyable too. Although I can't say that I've got a very good class, but at least the gals in my class are really wonderful.


Till now I still feel very guilty. I helped KS checked his physics prelim paper and yet I missed out a point which could have scored him 1 mark and will make a grade difference. I did check, but I think I just missed that part out. Luckily he found out and claimed the mark. Although he didn't blame me, but i feel that its really my fault. I feel so irresponsible and guilty and sad...even till now. I doubt he'll ever trust me again...cos I think that's how I'll feel if i were in his shoes.


And of course, I made another dumb mistake during the week by making 5 people (including myself) do a Biochem worksheet which wasn't due till the next lecture. I didn't do it on purpose...it really didn't occur to me that we'll be doing the other physical chem worksheet for that very lecture. I think some people were not happy but they didnt scold me. I rather they scold me, at least I know how they feel and by being scolded, I'd feel much better...


I've been trying very hard, but sometimes i get the feeling that I'm still not responsible enough. But I've really tried...and I'm really very tired...I think I'm just a very lousy chem rep and I'm sure thats how some of the guys in my class feel...

Brand new Sunday

Ah...finally a brand new and fresher day. Yesterday was so trrible. I feel as if I was living in some hazy hazy world, without fresh air yesterday. Looking out of the window, I see like 60% haze and 40% scenary. It was really very bad. For the first time after how-many-donkey-years, the PSI hit more than 100. The worst was last night, with PSI of 150. 150!!! Can you believe it or not? We are in Singapore leh, not Indonesia...Then the night before was also terribly terrible. I smelled smoke, but my parents smelled none. My sister was fed up with my constant complaints about me being suffocated. But it was really bad mah...somemore people were carrying lanterns, playing sparkles and burning anything they can find in the park nearby...how good do you think the air quality can be?


Today was much much better. Right now the PSI is only about 37. Great huh? Anyway, we went Pan Pacific Hotel this afternoon for the MINDEF Scholarship Talk. Ok lah, the scholarship is definitely fantastic (they have only awarded 38 scholarships over the past 10 yrs) but if you are talking about the 3-mth BMT and OCS training, I really don't mind giving it a miss. Then the atmosphere is always the best when it comes to Q&A. As usual, not many people asked. It was supposed to end by 5pm, yet by 5pm I was already at home. Haha. The food was nice though...But today was definitely not my happiest day anyway.


& Talk about coincidence, ZJ and I were on the same train on our way to City Hall. Haha, where got so qiao one...

Maths Lecture +++

Today's maths lecture was so interesting...putting the real purpose of the lecture aside, its really fun to hear about things like hamming code and how the last letter of our NRIC is determined. I always thought its a random event. Haha. But whö's taking maths in University? Crazy ah...


And i find things between me and her turning about funny, but I don't know how to describe. What's going on? Actually I roughly know the reason why, and if thats really the case, I definitely don't quite like the reason. I have never treated her this way before...sigh. But there's no way I'm giving in to her just because of her comments...

Of results and CCA draft

Today got back almost all the results, except bio. Anyway, I already knew my MCQ score, terrible lor. Other results still ok lor. Hope that the A grade cut-off for Chem is below my score, if not I would go bang my head against the wall. So near yet so far is the kind of feeling that I detest the most. My bio sure isn't going to make it. If I can get a pass and above, is very good already.


Checking of CCA Draft was horrendous, so messy. Didn't know that the school computer system is actually so screwed up, mistakes here-there-everywhere. Lousy. Many people's summaries were of 2 pages, mine only 1 page, so pathetic, like I very contribution-less like that. Compared to my Sec 4 CCA record which filled almost the whole page, when others' were only half the page...sigh.


People have already started studying for A-levels while I'm still in the exam-just-over kinda mood. Terrible. Still can afford to waste time talking during the 1h 20 min buffer time somemore...hosei ah. Haha.

End of Prelims

Yeah, finally finish my prelims liao. Its so funny...at 1 moment I'm receiving my exam scripts, the next moment, I'm sitting in the exam hall, doing yet another paper. Haha. S Papers were tough, needless to say, to think the physics qns that I attempted was actually gone thru by Mr Chan during one of the sessions, yet I still got it totally wrong. Haha, who ask me nvr study...


Got back my maths paper liao, all thanks to my paper 1 pulled me up or you can also say all thanks to my paper 2 pulled me down... some people around me all get 90+++, make me seem so lousy like that. Sigh, but never mind lah. Bio so far is just just just passed only. Still got 89 marks worth of scripts with the teachers...whether my wish come true all not all lies in my DESTINY. Haha, I have no CHOICE!


Oh and speaking of that, I still have my essay and AQ on DESTINY and CHOICE awaiting me. Sigh, I want to rest also cannot. Tired leh...

End of Part 1

I call this the end of part 1, cos thats the end of the core papers. 2 more S Papers to go. Actually, I think the stress level has reduced by quite a lot by now. Cos I know I won't make it for S Papers, so anything above an "U" grade is considered very remarkable already. But even if thats the case, I don't see why the school is so unfair to have lessons in the morning. Why, don't need to study at all is it? I want my definition marks ok!


Actually I did regret...not abt taking S Papers, its abt not taking Maths S Paper. Cos I think my Physics is really getting from bad to worse. But its too late already. And I too regret taking the Triple Sci combi instead of Double Maths. Bio is really hard leh, and I'm so so sick of bio that I really don't know how I'm going to survive the actual paper. It really seems as if no matter how hard I've tried or how much effort I've put in, there's still no improvement. Once again, be glad that my results don't deteriorate...


And Mrs Ho was the very very 1st teacher to 'feed' us with GP compre. So fast eh? According to her command, I'm only supposed to touch it after S papers, but maybe if I'm in a good mood tonight, I will try to complete so that its ready for discussion on Tues, but depends on my mood. Haha....

Another break...

Yeah, 2 more MCQ papers and 2 more S papers to go...I'm glad that the prelims are finally coming to an end, very very soon, but it will only be abt 1 month before the actual A levels. My goodness, its fast eh? I'm not going to do well for this prelims, I know, don't tell me, and don't doubt me too.


Anyway, luckily there's no paper tmr, so I can stay at home and SLACK. Ok lah, rest would probably be a more apt word. Once again, tonite's gonna be the absolute refractory period again, to prevent exhaustion and fatigue. Haha. No depolarisation so no influx of any knowledge at all. All the knowledge-sensitive channels are closed. Too bad! Haha. I'm crazy.

Disappointment

Its disappointing...the prelim of course and something else related to someone else. Talk abt the prelim 1st. I know its meant to be hard. But I don't see the need for killer papers right? I'm referring to Physics P2 and Biology. To the smart people out there, I really don't mind if they beg to differ, but thats how I feel.


Regarding the next something, theres nothing much to talk abt. Maybe I'm just petty or too sensitive, but i trust my sense and intuition. Sigh, make me feel sad. Sickening person.


Anyway, just hope that the upcoming papers will be better. I'm left with Physics P3, Chemistry P1 & 2, Biology P1 and 2 S Papers. They will be difficult and thats needless to say. To avoid further disappointment, I shan't think of anything else and I shall go to sleep. I need that sleep!!!

Last day

Today - the last day of the term. The next time i see my friends...oh gosh! Its gonna be Prelims, which is like 2 weeks away. Seriously and strictly speaking, I haven't started studying at all, and here i am, still blogging away. Fine.


We didn't celebrate much actually. just some well-wishes and a mug for each teacher. And a cake for Ah Chong. Really reminds me of how 4e1 didn't show our appreciation during 2004 Teachers' Day cos we were busy with our prelim preparation. I didn't know the teachers actually expected students to give them something. As in, of course they know that students would give them something, but i didn't know they would actually say it out so openly. Yah.


'Bought 2 6R class photos. Really regretted not buying last year, so i don't have a complete set now. But anyway, its ok since i don't like CG last year anyway. But I don't really approve of the way the photog society handle our photos. First there was a minimum orde of $120, then there's the 150% 6R and 8R order. Now, they say they can't develop 4R photos, cos there's someting wrong with the machine. Yah, how convenient.


Back to the last day talk, yah, today the last day, quite slack too. There were only 4 guys who turned up officially. I guess the rest of the people pre-empted that nothing much would be done today. Seems like they are right. Great foresight huh! Anyway, I don't intend to return within the next 2 weeks, so yah. So long!

Things to say...

It really makes me feel rather weird and uneasy seeing the things that people write and their phrasing of words. I mean, is it realy true that everyone becomes a different person once he/she gets hooked on to the PC? Apparently it is, cos there seems like a few cases already. But I don't think I'm like them, cos at this very moment, I'm still thinking like the way I always think. Or has my personality already splitted without my knowledge?


This is my last official week for this school term. Fortunately, cos its only Mon, and I'm already feeling the kind of Fri's tiredness. Really, its a kinda mixed emotions. On one hand, I'm so glad not having to wake up early, to do all those dumb bio rev tests, don't need to attend GP lessons, no more S Papers, no more yucky canteen food...etc...and the list goes on...at least for the next 2 weeks. (Wow, I didn't know that there're actually so many things i dreaded about school). But on the other hand, I feel a little sad. Maybe cos it means I would be seeing less of my friends, CG people, ZJ & company...


Its approx 2-3 weeks before Prelims, and i can feel some of the people around me are going haywire soon. Me too. I really really have NO confidence for Bio. At all. I can really imagine myself staring blankly at the essay qns, like what i did during JCT, not knowing what to write at all. At this moment, I really wish to drop the subject, chuck it aside and never look at it anymore. I've never loathed Bio so much...its...I really don't know how to say.

Lets put it this way. There are so many things that i don't understand...and these are the things that many of us not understand too, or so they claimed. But I don't take things lying down...but i have nobody to turn to...ZJ had a shock out of her life when she saw how HE reacted when I asked HIM an MCQ. Hello!...its only MCQ...what reaction am I supposed to get if its an essay qns? I think HE would freak out. I think I would too. But no matter what, I'm still going to try my best. Yah, it sounds cliche, but tell me, what can i do? I have no choice right?


Right.


And for once, I really think that the songs sung by 5566 are actually so nice...

Tests and Results...

This week is really a terribly a busy week. Mon-Bio Rev Test Tues-Biochem Test, Wed-Ionic/Chem Equilibrium Self Test, Thurs-Electrochem Self Test, Fri-Physics Lecture Test, Bio Rev Test. I'm going crazy soon. Thank goodness, tmr is Friday and the week is finally ending. But so what? There's tonnes of work waiting for me to complete over the wkn.

Nanyang Concept Test results are out. I failed, of course, i didn't study or prepare for it anyway. 25/60. u think i can be in the 50th percentile, so that i can get at least a merit? I doubt so. Anyway, whats done cannot be undone, so too bad lah.

Mystery Unraveled!

It was that dumb ear stud or whatever you call it. My ear has been blocked for 2 whole days. At first, though impossible, we thought it was water. The when that dumb green thing went missing, I suspected it went in. Nobody believed me. Or rather, nobody believed that something would actually drop into my ear.


Finally went to Ployclinic to check today. They referred me to A&E of Changi General Hospital. It was scary. I was brought to that room, with all the metal forceps and scapels and equipment. The Dr first placed that long metal vacuum thing into my ear. I could feel the wind gushing into my ear. But nothing came out. He said that the ear stud had pierced through the flesh, and its stuck there. My goodness, I could've fainted on the spot. I was so scared I would become deaf or what after everything. And I was also scared that the Dr would have to perform surgery to get that thing out. I was just so worried. I was trembling, of course, from my teeth to my toes.


Then he used another sharper metal instrument, together with some liquid in my ear. U could've imagined the pain when that metal thing went poking and scraping along my ear canal. I was told not to shout, or to move. Fine. I pinched myself. At the end of the whole 'torture', well that ear stud finally came out. Both my ear and leg was painful. I was prescribed eardrops, in case of infection. But well, finally my hearing's back to normal. And I know there's nothing stuck in my ear canal.


It was really scary and painful. But I'm glad I didn't wait till a few days later before I see the Dr. It could've been worse. I've learnt a lesson- always to take off my ear rings before I sleep.

The last of NAPFA

I just ran the last official 2.4km of my life. Hooray! No more inclined pull-ups, no more standing broad jump, no more sit n reach...My nightmares, whether you believe it or not. Though its already like 2 days since I did my 5 items test, my body is still aching like crazy. You know I had such a hard time getting up from bed!! I can't laugh hard, or else...Haha.


I don't know, but i think some of my class guys are downright selfish. Why can't they help us gals take our timings? It doesn't happen in other classes leh...What's the big deal about playing soccer? We are all classmates! But I'm grateful that someone took my timing for me.


Today's run was terrible. I didn't feel well even before I started running, but its the last time already. By the 3rd round, I can feel myself almost fainting. I see pple all around me, then my sides were so so so pain. Then i heard someone calling my name, I'm not sure lah, as I was in a half-conscious state. But I just continued running. From my timings, I could see myself decelerating. Haha. So physics. But its true. I'm quite comforted at least he asked whether I was ok, cos I was feeling so unwell. I felt like going home. Thanks gals, who helped me.


Then today for chem, Miss Wong said sth that shocked me, which I didn't expect her to know.
I think the maths test was ok, so long as there weren't any deadly careless mistakes, which I'm so proned to make. Haha. So much so. And speaking of that, all our guys went round the school this morning, under the command of the PE teacher, in search of the luncher. It was so funny, its like some massive search or treasure hunt or sth, so interesting. Physics lesson was fun, with the exercises that were encouraged by Hello Kitty, and the bet that she made with us.


Yesterday's photo shoot was fun. Yah, making fun of pple. we insisted on going to some funny funny places to take our informal shots, when the photog pple keep insisting that they have a tight schedule. In the end, they still gave in, after much pestering from us and Ah Chong. But the formal shoot is no good, I think. I don't like "bird's eye view" kind of photo. But no choice, shall see how it turns out.


And yesterday, I also saw my level ranking. I thought I would have dropped a lot, surprisingly, I didn't. Instead I crept to 64. Luckily still in top 10%. But anyway, A-levels is the only exam that really matters.

I don't fancy people without simple manners and courtesy. I don't understand why he suddenly chose to sit alone in front, and rushing off the bus without waiting for us. WHATS THE HURRY??? Before yesterday, he wasn't like that. He used to sit with us at the back and talked and we waited for each other. I don't care if I offended him or not, cos I know I didn't. But too bad that I'm born petty and too easily angered by trivial matters. At the very least, I make an effort to wait for my friends who board the same bus as me, to alight.


I don't want to come to school every morning, feeling angry and unhappy. So I'm not going to board the same bus as him anymore, even if it means that I have to wake up especially early so that I'd board the earlier buses. And I MEAN IT!!!


And from this post of mine, I think its obvious that I'm angry.

Friday...finally...

This week is finally ending, finally. Don't know why, but I feel so tired. Maybe cos everything's in full swing liao, I really long for some good rest...not doing any homework, not studying anything, yah, I wish. Got Biochem test next week.


Yesterday's PE was hell. Yf told me that by the end of 3rd round, we would be totally exhausted. True enough, I really was exhausted. But it was so shocking to see the way she cheong during the last round. I caught up with her during the 1st 200m, but after that, people start overtaking me. After that dumb round, I really felt like fainting. My head was spinning like crazy lor. But still, I ran 2min. So total I ran 5 rounds in 2.02+1.57+1.57+1.56+2.00 mins. U tell me whether will die or not lah.


I've finally sort of "handed over" Scico stuff to Esther. I really don't expect the teachers to haunt me that frequently anymore, but appparently, I was not very right. Sigh.


So glad that Monday don't have to go to school.

Newsflash!

I set my alarm at 1.50am, but when it went off, i silenced it and continued sleeping. When I woke up, it was already past 24 min, and the score was already 1-1.


I supported France, but they lost. I was so puzzled by what Zidane did. I almost freaked out, when i saw the replay of how he butt-headed the italian player.


But I was even more disappointed when i saw him being 'awarded' the red card. That was his last match...it was such a pity. Was he crazy or what? Hand injury too painful that he was out of his mind?
Too tired? I wonder what the French would do to him when he returns at the airport.


Anyway, World Cup aside, i've got back my GP today. Didn't do well,
but luckily didn't fail overall. But so many people did so much better...sigh, nobody but myself to blame.


I slept at 5.30am this morning and woke up again at 10am. How fun it was to go to school during the afternoon!

Updates!

Today only half day...yeah!!! Went shopping and bought something for my handphone. Went to T Mall and saw the Hokkaido Fair at the atrium. Ate a double scoop ice cream - Red Bean and Green Tea for $5. It was simply ice-cream-licious. Haha, reminded me of the times in Japan, where we ate green tea ice cream for 300Y when the season then was winter. Haha. How nice.


And something quite nice...the chrome alum crystal that ZJ and I seeded during the hols grew to quite a size. And even quite nice too. Finally have something to tell Mrs Lim if she were to catch me the next time. Haha.


Now for the not so nice...lousy results of course, what else. Managed to just-pass bio, chem and physics equally terrible, but not as bad as bio. Sigh. Haven't get back maths, but I doubt it would be any better. For GP, I think I'm hopeless. Mrs Ho said that many did the technology qns, and many died on the battlefield. I'm gone for sure. How?

World Cup

It was so diasppointing. Argentina lost to Germany last night. But luckily Italy won, 3-0. Tonight, England VS Portugal. Brazil VS France.


John Terry got a yellow card at 29'.
David Beckham was substituted by Aaron Lennon at 51'.
Wayne Rooney got a red card at 61'.


Why?


I hope that England and Brazil would win. Haha.

Donations

I didn't know that asking people for donation would be so tiring. But it was fun and meaningful though.
I knew getting people to buy the CDs would be impossible, but I didn't expect the whole situation to be that bad. Its Orchard Road leh, the link being, its probably the busiest and buzziest street in Singapore...asking people for donation was bad enough, who would still dare to ask them about the CDs? But its rather funny to see their reactions though.

When you approached people for donations:

  1. Some nodded their heads and walked away
  2. Some rejected you right in-front
  3. Some thought that you were invisible
  4. Some thought that you were some kind of plague, and started running
  5. Some made some remarks which you didn't understand and walked away
  6. Some just stared at you blankly, etc

Haha. Not driving at anything, but I'm just listing my encounters. Oh, and there were "allies" too. Haha. I think I can really understand how those people doing flag day felt when they were being rejected. But there were really quite some generous souls who donated twice or emptied all the coins in their pockets. Commendable!

Finally

Finally. The JCT was a terrible disaster, especially the Bio paper. So what if I knew that it would be a difficult paper? It doesn't and won't make any difference. The Chem paper was a not-to-be-finished one. Didn't have time to complete, let alone check. The Physics and Maths paper were tiring and tough of course, and GP? Not meant to be passed.

Half of Last Week gone...

Ok. Today is already Wed, which means 4 more days to end of the hols. My goodness, time's really running out, and here I am still blogging about some trivial and unimportant stuff instead of mugging. I still have Chem and Bio totally untouched...and not to forget my GP homework also. No time liao lor.


Just a joke. Last nite i was recording the 9pm Channel 8 show. But somehow or other, the last part was recorded to become some Channel 5 World Cup News. The culprit? Yours truly, of course. I didn't realise I've set the channel wrongly, so this morning, my mum's 11am Channel 8 show, naturally became some Channel 5 sitcom. Haha. Blur. Ok, maybe not so funny afterall.


People who know me well may have heard this for dont know how many times, but I still must voice my anger and dissatisfaction. Its terribly dumb to have exams immediately after hols...blah blah blah. Haha. And I think the bio teachers are really cruel. They could have just set 1 qns on each topic and there we have to study for all near-20 chapters thoroughly, just to tackle that very minimal qns. Its not not-true, cos there are so few qns in a paper and so many things to be asked from all those chapters! Whatever, I don't care. If I can't finish, then I won't finish. I will not blame myself. Instead, I will blame the teachers. Haha. No lah, I won't blame anyone.


Tonight shall be the last episode for "Jewel in the Palace". Tomorrow night shall be the long-awaited "Armed Reactions IV". Yeah! Look forward to the theme song.

2 weeks gone...

Ok. Motivated by G, i shall post again. Haven't really been mugging leh, whether u choose to believe me or not. I still think its a lousy system to have exams or common tests immediately after the hols. Its really irritating to make the students feel guilty if they just idle their hols away. But too bad, despite my guilt, i've still done the latter.


Other than watching TV, going out and slacking, i really haven't done anything much. Yah, and I'm so proud to say that I'm only stuck by 1 Binomial & Poisson qns....thats because i only tried 1 qns lah. Haha. Serious. I don't fancy doing any more maths sums after being stuck at the very 1st qns. Naturally, I gave up. Maybe will try again on Mon? Maybe...


2 more weeks have past, which means 2 more weeks for revision. 4 subjects + GP...u think its do-able? Nah...

1 week gone...

Oh my goodness...1 week of hols gone and I haven't done anything constructive yet...What have I been doing all this week other than going out to school, shopping and some sports? None. Never mind, there are still 3 more weeks.


Oh and I've just seen viewed the Friendster profile of a guy in my CG...saw the many many friends he had...and the many many photos he have of himself only. Somehow he doesn't seem as popular among my CG people leh...such an irony.

SPA free

This morning had my last dose of SPA. I should have felt relaxed and 'lighter' now, but I'm not lor. All because of some dumb yeast and potato. I'm seriously very worried and uneased abt my ans, but too bad too late, whats done cannot be undone. Just hope that yeast contains catalase alright yah.


After that SPA was the PSC Psychometric test. Since I was sort of forewarned not to leak anything out, shan't say much yah, for me to know, and for some others to find out then. All I can say is those one-after-another series of tests can be quite deadly especially after your brain cells have been tortured and drained out after 1 night of SPA Revision. 314 Questions + approx 10 feedback questions and lots and lots of bubbles to shade...you try that! Oh, and for the 1st time in my life have I ever encounterd MCQs with more than 5 choices. I had 8 choices for 1 section and A-P (which makes it 10 choices) for another. Haha. No more telling.


Going back tmr morning for SCICO. Sian. You think I like to go back school? Nah. But the fact is we need to show something once school term starts again you see, its not as if I'd wish to go back during the 2nd and 3rd or 4th week of the hols yah. Its so hard to get everyone back. So what if I've done that? The lab may not be opened anyway...Whats up man?

Hols!

Today is the first day after the last day of school term. Wah, so the fast...Had a conversation with my cousin this morning, was terribly shocked to know that his school has finished teaching all the syllabus for all the subjects. Even for the options. Isn't it fast? To think we still have quite some bit of option part to teach while people can already proceed to revision once school starts. This really makes me wonder what our school's been doing...or rather what his school been doing...Never mind, lets not compare.

Sports carnival ended yesterday. Heard that Alpha was the overall champion. Isn't it sort of expected? Haha...they are always so good at all these events.

Oh yeah, I visited the Tampines Swimming Complex yesterday. Went home early yesterday, yearning for some good rest, but was dragged to swim by my sis. Not that bad actually, quite some improvements as compared to the previous layout...The slides were fun, if only they weren't in the baby pool, what a pity! Yah, I liked the mushroom and the "waterfall" too...could use some massage. Haha.

This hols...I look forward to only 2 days of going back to school and some nice bit of rest and slacking and shopping. Of course, will study for JCT, but probably not so soon. Whta's the point of studying so early when you have to study again eventually since everything will be forgotten by almost the end of the hols? I really don't believe in super-memory. Haha.

So many things...

I thought Sunday was the most perfect and fun-filled day, but I was wrong. Things happened so suddenly, it really caught me by not just surprise, but its mainly fear and shock. Its definitely very saddening to hear the news, he was so close to us, so much things to talk about. But now, no more. Saw him for almost the last time just now. Somehow I felt that the atmosphere didn't seem right. People weren't sad. Why? Not even his son lor... I really don't understand.

My mind now is simply too complicated and messy to write anymore things, though I do have a lot to say.

Things happened too fast. Hope such things never happen again.

Big Walk 06

Just came back from Big Walk with 2nd sis. It was fun, but now both my legs ache!

Anyway, the whole route was 10km, with a "turning point" at The Fullerton Hotel. Saw Yeh Hao and friends at somewhere there. We were stopped sometimes at the traffic lights by the road marshals. In a professional way, that broke our momentum. In a commoner way, those were opportunities for us to rest. It wasn't that tiring actually, cos the weather was extremely fine and you just keep walking and walking.

We reached National Stadium at 6.05am, way before road closes, started walking at 7.40am, and came back at around 9.30am. It was quite fast actually. We "paraded" past Suntec City, the Concourse, Keypoint, Esplanade, etc, on roads that are usually meant for cars and not us. Such a Poisson distribution. Haha.

Saw how the people snatched and I really mean SNATCHED for the free Anlene Yoghurt. Standing somewhere near, I was pushed many times by the yoghurt-hungry aunites and uncles. So un-glam. I mean them, not me. I don't eat yoghurt one...I hear those officials shouting to those snatchers: "Don't snatch, if you snatch, we won't give. Don't push, please queue, this is Singapore..." Precisely, this is Sinagpore, thats why people are doing that. Its only yoghurt lah. Maybe one day they can become potential snatch-thieves, since they are so pro at snatching. Haha. No offense.

Will I participate again next year? Maybe. See if there's anybody free to accompany me lor. Haha.

Last day



Thats my hand. Haha. With gloves on, thats why no fingerprints, no nothing.

3 days...over liao. Learnt a lot? Maybe. Most of the time we were doing computer stuff, like using some funny funny programs, which my PC will never install. Was kind of disappointed as I had expected more of lab work and less of computing lesson, but apparently, its the opposite.

I thought that perhaps the experience would have been more fun if more fun people had gone with me too. I'm not trying to say that guy from my CG who went with me was no fun ok, please don't anyhow infer or stuff words into my mouth, yah. Haha. He was terrible + hoggible + horrendous!

Was very grateful that my classmate collected all my stuff for me. At least my work wouldn't be like some homeless soul...Haha.

Day 2

2 days of attachment over. The 1st day was a day of socialising-with the RJ people in my team, and the 2nd day was simply a day of confusion with the TJ people. Did a lot of computer work today, which I wasn't very sure what I was doing actually. Ok lah, I think I can roughly figure out how the program works lah. Got to go home exceptionally early cos we done our work faster. I mean how slow can it get for following instructions? It could have been much earlier had Albert not restarted our program 4 times.

Got the good news that Science Inno Day was cancelled. Phew. We were rather unprepared, but ZJ doesn't share the same sentiments. Had to sell the paperweights anyway. So sad I missed the ice-cream man today. Had to wait for 2 months later liao. Huh...

Tomorrow is going to be the last day. Monday will have to go back to school. So sian. Though attachment is also not very un-sian, but its still better than going to school, at least I get to wake up later than usual. Haha.

Made up my mind!

I have finally made up my mind. At the really very last minute before the bell rang for Chem lecture. Biochem. I didn't bluff, I really did want and consider Food Chem, in fact I still think I prefer Food Chem. But, I just don't know... most of the people in my class are taking Biochem. I don't want to be the only gal in class taking the option. The lecture was sort of a recap of some Bio stuff, but I don't think its really that easy. Its only the first lecture. Its only the beginning.

Tomorrow is GE Day. How great that the polling station is just at the void deck opposite my block, since this promises a good 'scenary'. Haha. I guess today is also the last day for he parties to publicise themselves. I'm definitely going to miss those 'happenings-what each party say', the rallies and the pick-ups with those loudspeakers and some with the candidates standing on it, driving around. Perhaps have to wait for another 5 years before I can see these things again.

Going for attachment next week for 3 days, which means I only have to attend school on Monday, since Friday is Vesak Day, which also means PhysicsTest+Chem Test+Bio Mock SPA on Monday. My goodness, how am I going to survive?

Tired.

Never have been so tired after playing badminton before. For the first time. The extra game with SH was so tough. She really made me run from one corner to another, from the front to the back. Though tiring, it was challenging. Really enjoyed the entire game, though I was almost out of stamina. Haha, crazy!!!

Just now Chem S was rather boring. No lah, its me who found it boring only lah. I was so bored that I actually took out my handphone and played games. Gee, shouldn't have done that, but too bad lah.

Gonna face a difficult decision soon...Biochemistry or Food Chemistry? I don't really like Bio, if I'd liked it, I wouldn't have thrown my pen on the floor and gave up doing my tutorial and went to sleep instead. But its so...like revision lor cos its too similar to the Bio stuff learned. Food Chem sounds and looks so attractive and appealing and interesting and YUMMY! Haha, I love food lor. So to make a decision...its really hard. Sometimes I rather not have the choice, cos I wouldn't have to worry and think so much like what I'm doing now. 1 less dilenma, why not? But isn't it so contradicting when sometimes, I actually yearn for a choice when I'm not given one?

Long weekend

Long weekend, so people claim. Not very long leh...its Monday already. Tomorrow have to go back to school again, so sian. But at least, Labour Day has managed to save me from the tough 2hr GP lesson. Haha. But how I wish Labour Day is on Tuesdays...don't have to go for PE and S Paper. Maybe next year lor...as in next year this day will fall on Tuesday, but what I'll be doing I don't really know. Definitely not having PE or S Paper.

How I spent my so called "long weekend"? Eh...don't know leh...sneezing and coughing away...is that counted? Spent most of the time clearing my tapes. Watched 'The W Files' and found the show fascinating...fascinating-ly funny, especially the 2 Scientists-Gobi & Desert. Isn't that supposed to be Gobi Desert? Anyway, its funny as they tend to complete each others' sentences. So cute. Watched the Labour Day Concert on TV, I mean...heard some nice songs. Saw the Campus Superstars.

Sick

Wanted to post yesterday, but had no time. I wasn't feeling well, so went to take a nap...When I woke up it was already 8pm. Went to shower, then ate dinner, then watched TV till I fell asleep again...all the way to 11am this morning. I thought some sleep would do my about-to-sore throat some good, but yah I thought...I was wrong. Its simply worse than ever. Now its sore throat + flu liao lor. Win already lor. I hate this! Is this the way I'm going to spend my long weekend? So much so for labour day, can't enjoy being sick lor.


I still want to say I hate it when people let the door slam in front of my face. Its damn rude lor. I don't mind mentioning his initials...who else but BC? I'm not expecting him to hold the door for me cos he's a guy and I'm a gal, and its only gentlemanly for him to do so. Lets forget abt the gentleman talk here, cos obviously he's not fit to be called one. But anyway, its basic manners that I'm talking about. So much so for 11 years of quality education...don't even know what simple manners are. I believe anyone, except him, would hold the door for the person behind him/her if you see someone behind right? I would do that for anyone, let alone my classmates.


Anyway, I was very sad yesterday lor. Not cos of that stupid BC, of course. I didn't feel like talking yesterday during bio lesson. I wanted to msg ZJ, but the stupid life science lab had no network.

!st Monday

My 1st time posting on a Monday...i think.


Today...nothing much except that I reached school exceptionally early...0645h i think. Never do physics TYS, but even though I reached school so early, I didn't do much either. Talked a lot. Haha. Sat with Jac during maths lecture, then did a GP essay after lunch. Mrs Ho saw what I was writing, took a look at my qns and asked me: "Are you serious?" I'm deadmeat. I really felt like just tearing up my whole essay. Whats the point of handing in something that I knew would doom me like crazy? Its also my 1st time (so I say) not knowing which qns to choose from. Out of 12 qns, I knew NONE!!! Serious. I crapped all the way through, see how I'm going to fail. Really, I rather take Chinese Lit than GP. At least Chinese is something I'm rather confident of, relative to English.


On my way home, there's this stupid bus driver who kept on jerking like mad. And some girls from some don't-know-what school, kept on screaming. So sickening. Woke me up leh! Then it rained again. Its always like that. No brolly again. Drenched again. Though I'm sneezing away like crazy now, I never believe in getting sick just because of staying in the rain for that short little while. Nah. I know ZJ'll feel that I'm germy like___, never mind. Haha.

Chox


Such a beauty...I'm referring to the chocolate. Had the urge to eat some real, silky and rich chocolate after reading that article in Changi Express. So tempting. But I doubt I can go beyond 2. If I eat 5, that would be a world record, cos my chox level is extremely not high. Haha.

Don't know what I was doing last nite, I was so blur or exhausted that I actually forgot to pack my lecture notes in my bag. I should say it didn't even cross my mind that I'm supposed to bring them. Imagine having to copy all the stuff twice for all 3 sciences...all my fault lah, what to do.

Went to the sports day eventually. But didn't go sports complex, hid at some places, became momentary nomads, migrating from 1 place to another, crossing our fingers not to get caught or spotted. Luckily...Made it to the airport in the end. 2nd sis's flight was delayed anyway. On the way back, saw a SIA plane "strolling" on the flyover. It was really humongous. Too bad, my fingers were not fast enough to snap a pix of it. What a pity.

It rained just after I reached home.Heavy rain as usual. 2nd sis was so curious as to why it kept on raining these few days. Enlighten me if you can. I don't know the answer to her question. Went Cold Storage to "steal" a watermelon. So heavy. Just like the rain. By right, anyone in the right sense of mind wouldn't walk some distance to buy a large watermelon in such horrible weather. But we are some crazy people. Can't help. Haha.

Rainy Day

Rainy afternoon. Extremely heavy rain. No brolly. Drenched. When I bring my brolly, it NEVER rains, but once I take it out of my bag, it rains. Cats and dogs and elephants and giraffes. I swear never to bring my brolly again. So din dei, aka take up space. How interesting man, that type of weather was simply too perfect to sleep, but I can't. So sian, so tired. Today had mass PE. Had to run 4 rounds as a class, then do some "Äctive Recovery" exercises. Don't think I'd recoverd from anything, but it was definitely active.

I hated the way this teacher commented about my work. So what if I like to do my tutorials in my way? What's his problem? He thinks I'm poor. I'm not super-duperly rich, but poor-defintely not!

And today was chem practical. At first I found myself to be so unfortunate to be grouped with _____, but eventually I realised that it wasn't that bad afterall. But I changed my mind again, when he dumped the group report to me. I meant both slackers. I dom't mind doing actually, but I hated their attitudes. PW was already a very GOOD experience already, now again. So much so for group work, its so sickening. How I envy Eliza's group. At least people contributed ideas. For my group, I guess it'd be me and G only. Its really irritating. Why are these people like that???

Tomorrow is some Track and Field Finals. ZJ not going. Not fun one. Wanted to go airport to pick up my sis, but don't think I can go now, cos they asy attendance will be taken. They claimed the same last year, but all of us were conned. No attendance taken at all. I still remember Ah Chong's reaction last year. Vividly. I was outside the office last year, when all the teachers laughed at how the students were tricked to stay back. Think history is going to repeat soon.

Jerky talk

Just now mass civics was about how not to marry a jerk. Many felt that the (loud)speaker was very funny, but I don't think so leh. Imagine me falling asleep for half the talk an msging someone who tagged rubbish in my blog...how interesting or funny can the talk get huh? Maybe I got a funny sense of humour or a very high joke-level or maybe just say that i've got an attitude problem lah. But however funny the talk is, there's no need for the guy behind me to laugh so loud that I'm being woken up so many times. Sickening. I know of a super duper jerk, Eliza does too. and many in ZJ's class haha. But I don't care.

Finally a full stop or maybe a comma to this series of tests. First was physics, then maths then chem then bio...all killer papers and very deadly somemore. I betcha there would be lotsa careless mistakes. Maths was a very good example. So sian. And I think Ah Chong would puke blood seeing my test paper, never an answer that's rubbisher than mine.

Anyway, i just love Wednesdays. Cos I can always hang out in the hub with my spammer friend, spamming and laughing. Feel like eating mint ice cream now...

Oh just 2 jokes to share. First, one maths lecturer looks like some harry potter ghost. Then is one male teacher looking that a packet of milk. Joker. And I will try not to sit next to the projector in the LTs next time, in case I knock against it and the screen starts to vibrate again

Another result day...

Got back the long-awaited PW results today. Finally. According to some people, this day should be the day A level results were released, or some said 1 week later. Some claimed that its 2 weeks after. It seemed that they were all wrong. Way way way wrong.

I expected or hoped that everyone in my group would get what they deserved, afterall its their own effort and they should know best that they deserve what they get. But apparently it wasn't the case. KS shouldn't deserve what he's gotten because he did put in a lot of effort. Especially in the WR. Frankly speaking, we really wouldn't have received such positive comments for our WR without his contributions. Its so unfair! This happened in another group in our CG too.
ZJ's whole group got Band 1. Lam's group also. So good, everyone is happy. To think they still dare say that they've gotten a lousy teacher last year. Somehow lousy teachers can help students get quality results. Amazing. But at least people in my NAS clique all got Band 1. But I know they all worked hard for that.

Pancake day...result slip day

Got back my result slip today. So sian. don't want to say anything about it, cos there's nothing to commend or comment about. One of the teacher's comments didn't seem pleasant. Whatever. I'm not supposed to be here in the hub now, like the A Du's song, instead I should be standing at the parade ground, under the hot sun, having some pancake feast. I really don't know what the activity is about, but I know that people are screaming away at the parade square. So HIGH. Perhaps if they change pancake to roti prata or french fries activity would be much more appealing. At least to me.

Today had my maths test. or rather had my maths test today. Made stupid mistakes again. Whats new? Its always like that. Yesterday was physics test. Had to rush thru the whole data analysis question within 5 mins, due to IMPROPER TIME MANAGEMENT, just like the guy who appeared in todays maths test question. Haha. Never mind. Sure do very badly for tose 2 tests one. Don't need to comment about this.

Tomorrow is Mardi Gras. My class doesn't seem very enthu about it. I'll be making some colourful strips of cloth for the class's Miss and Mr CG 24/05. But somehow I've got a feeling that the efforts will be wasted. Cos don't think the people in my class will wear it. Or maybe the girls will, but I can't predict the same for the guys. Just keep my fingers crossed.

Later will be going to the lab. Wonder how the paperweights will turn out. Keep my toes crossed.

Orchard Trip

Went Orchard Rd just now. Main purpose was to collect some vouchers and also to spend some vouchers. Went to get some supplies for the paper weight thingy at Art Friend in Taka. My goodness! The shop was as big as a hypermart and it was so difficult to find exactly the things you want. And the staff werent helpful, they were so lazy. If you were to ask them for anything, they would tell you that they don't have it. Too bad if you happen to find the things you want that they say they don't sell, down the aisle. Its really a joke. Saw some very beautifully couloured sand, really tempted to buy, but each singly coloured pack costs $7.99. If you really want some brilliantly coloured paper weight, it would have cost a bomb. Furthermore, I ain't very sure that the school would definitely reimburse me. So too bad. Its unlikely for me to go down to town again, so its either I keep mum about the colour sand that I saw, or I get someone to do the job.

friday liao

Friday liao, should feel very happy, but ok lah. Next week is both interesting and sian...next week got 2 tests, physics and maths. Dont have enough time to study lah, consecutive days somemore. Ironically, I look forward to Tuesday, cos there's no group PE and Chem S since its following Friday''s timetable. And theres Thursday's early dismissal, and Friday's public hol to look forward to. But again, 2 tests on the week after. Sigh.

During Leo GM just now, Miss Wong talked about the Leo Forum. I want to go or rather I hope to go...only about 25 leos will be selected (excluding the BOD) and there have to be equal no. of boys and gals, and there are 5 groups...so many criteria, its not possible for me to get selected one lor.

Very happy and touched to receive Boon Ching's friendster testimonial. We have lost contact over the 4 years plus, until I bumped into him early last year. Yet he seemed to still rmb me, and even rmb how I looked like and what I fancied when I was in P6.

Going down to Bras Basah to get the materials for the paperweight making. So troublesome.
And now I'm very angry, cos HE didn't reply my sms. HE is not Boon Ching.

Interesting!

I think i have the very good habit of blogging on Wednesdays. Haha. Today's quite a relaxed and fun day. Went for the SC introduction and it was damn funny to see how the SC nominees introduced themselves...songs that didn't sound quite in tune, cheers that weren't really sensational, raps that '"tangled" the very own tongues of the nominees and some sincere "fei fu zhi yan" that didn't sound quite sincere. But I heard that they were scolded after the session,such poor fellas. Don't think I would ever cast a vote again this time round, cos I really don't wish to create a monster SC again, like what I did last year. Perhaps, if 1 vote really really matters, that monster wouldn't be what he is today had I not made the wrong decision last year. Alas, its all over. So there's really nothing much for me to say, so no point saying anything anyway.

Had luch with ZJ after that, then we went round looking for paper cups and satay sticks for SciCo. The most ridiculous thing I've made someone do, is to write a receipt for something that doesn't even cost $1. But too bad, I can't claim without the receipt. Had a hard timelooking for paper cups, cos we are SO envt-friendly that we have outcasted (is that the right word t use) paper cups and are using plastic cups now. By the way, plastics are non-biodegradable. Sometimes, I really wonder why I'm, or rather we are doing these, when she's doing nothing and claiming all the credit...So peculiar.

We were also busy searching for something...$1 Mag-a-cone! Haha. But can't find, so sian. So we went back to school, skipped something that we deemed optional, and sat down in the canteen enjoying our mint ice-cream wrapped in rainbow bread. What a pleasure!

SciCo's activity was paperweight making, quite fun and aromatic...Haha. Wonder how those paperweights would turn out tmr. Disastrous? Perhaps. I do hope that the one with the TJ badge will be nice. But anyway, practice makes perfect, practise to perfect. Nothing will turn out well during the very first try. Haha. My own philosophy.

April fool

Hahaha...april fool's day or april's fool day or whatever, but ZJ got fooled and angry, i think...and I got fooled by her too. And i was really shocked by her msg. I liked her msg. She said: "Jun zi bao chou, shi nian bu wan, but juan zi bao chou muz immediately one." It rhymes huh...So funny.

Went Toa Payoh just now. Saw Jacelyn Tay...so slim and fair and tall somemore. But her singing really CMI (relative to other singers). It really gave me goosebumps. She's not cut for singing, thats all I can say. Her acting skills...lets not comment. Went back to Tampines and bought 3 Subway cookies for $2.50 @ Telepark. I ate 2 of them. This was a form of revenge cos the double choc cookie was sold out yesterday and I had to buy the last choc chip cookie. Haha. So hungry.
